What these terms cover

They apply when you use a Stingtail account — one for every game of the studio — and Stingtail Play, the studio’s app for Windows and macOS that you sign in with and install, update and start the games from. They are provided by the Stingtail Games studio ("the studio", "we").

By creating an account or using Stingtail Play, you agree to these terms. Each game also has its own rules and licence, which add to them: for Rendwar, its terms and licence agreement. How we handle your data is explained in the privacy policy.

Your account

An account is created in Stingtail Play or through Steam. Keep your password to yourself and your email address current: you are responsible for what happens on your account.

One person, one account. Do not sell, transfer or lend it.

You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, or have a parent’s or guardian’s consent.

Game licences and what you bought in the games are tied to your account.

Stingtail Play

We give you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install Stingtail Play on computers you own or use and to use it to play the studio’s games.

Stingtail Play updates itself and the games, and checks the signature of every file it downloads before installing it. Without a required update, a game may not start.

Do not reverse engineer, modify or redistribute Stingtail Play, or try to get around its protections, except where the law expressly allows it.

Purchases

Games and in-game items can be had on Steam, in our stores or with an activation key. Payments are processed by our payment partners; a partner may sell to you in its own name, and then its terms also apply to the payment and to refunds.

How to get a refund for a game is explained by its own policy: for Rendwar, rendwar.com/legal/refunds. Purchases on Steam are covered by Steam’s terms.

Playing fair

Do not cheat, use bots or tools that give an unfair advantage, interfere with the servers, get into other people’s accounts, impersonate the studio or other players, or harass and threaten others.

We may warn, restrict, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or a game’s rules, and remove what was gained by doing so.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time: write from its address to [email protected]. With the account you lose access to its games and items.

We may close an account for serious or repeated breaches, or where the law requires it. Should the studio ever end the service, we will tell you in advance.

Our games and marks

Stingtail Play, the games, their writing, art and music, and the names and marks Stingtail, Stingtail Play and Rendwar belong to the studio or its licensors. These terms give you no rights in them beyond the licences described here and in the games’ rules.

Liability

Stingtail Play and the games are provided "as is". We work to keep everything running, but we may change, pause or end individual features. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for events beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits rights the law gives you, including the consumer law where you live.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. Write to us first — we will try to settle the matter ourselves. If that fails, a court will hear the dispute as the law provides; if you are a consumer in another country, you keep the mandatory rights its law gives you.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. When a change matters, we will tell you in Stingtail Play or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect.
